After reading the book, the tutor can open up a discussion regarding palindrome words (mom, nun, taco cat). Using note cards or pieces of paper, the student can write the main points of the story and explore the idea of ‘sequential’ order. Additionally, the student can review the concepts of significant vs non-significant events. If time allows, the student can draw, write or discuss a recent event in their life (such as a birthday or holiday).
