The student can start interacting with this graphic novel by reading the “Cast of Characters” page. Writing prompts for journaling are provided in the session plan. The student can then create their own ‘opposite’ matching game using index cards. Tutors can help the student decode the vocabularly words listed in the book, and write them in the “Words I’m Learning” booklet.
