Session plan for interest level: K-3
Details
In this session plan, the student will explore how sounds happen and how we hear them. Through interactive activities suggested within the book (such as clapping), the students learn about vocal cords, sound waves, and decibels. The session plan suggests the tutor bring objects that make different sounds such as jingling coins and a crinkling wrapper, so that the student can guess what made the sound. One additional activity includes creating a chart to note ‘Soft Sounds’ versus ‘Loud Sounds.’
